Idle Speed Control Motors (ISC)
Description: A DC motor controlled by the onboard computer. The computer moves the pintle in and out to position the throttle for varying engine loads thereby maintaining correct idle speed.
Symptoms of Failure:
- Engine Stalling
- Surging
- Poor Idle Conditions
- Check Engine Light
Recommended Service: Check for proper operation with each tune-up. Replace when trouble codes indicate failure or motor is no longer operational.
